| Sarah Lough
Weary, beaten, bewildering
Dead on my feet
The only way I could depict it
From the beginning it was confronting
Even to the end
Although not the end, because this is a never-ending journey
Mine was never typical
Constantly being dragged around
No understanding of who I was or where I fitted in
Belonging
Something I couldn't feel
Something I couldn't find
Faith
Something I faked
Something I didn't understand
Something I didn’t have
Pain
Misunderstood
Lost
No feeling of worthiness
Sorrow shadowed
Stuck in a hole with no escape
Then freedom dawned
Found
Found through prayer
Cradled in the arms of God
Warmth filling my heart
Down on my knees
One arm reaching for the sky, one fisted above my heart
What’s happening
My heart was full
My life was changed
I was renewed.
Confusing: it is not
Scary: it is not
Choice
Choosing Him
Letting Christ work in me
Opening my heart to Him
Now,
it’s Him always.
