
Rev’d Dr Gordon Preece is Director of Ethos Centre for Christianity and Society and Chair of the Melbourne Anglican Social Responsibilities Committee as a consultant for Ethos and Honorary Director of the University of Divinity Network for Religion & Social Policy (RASP).
Gordon recently became Senior Policy Advisor for peak body Catholic Social Services Victoria. He was a minister at several Anglican churches in Sydney and until early 2020 senior minister at Yarraville Anglican.
Academically, Gordon lectured at Morling Baptist College of NSW and was Director of Macquarie Christian Studies Institute at Macquarie University, and dean of the University College and Director of the Centre for Applied Christian Ethics at Ridley College, University of Melbourne.
Gordon was also Executive Director of Urban Seed, a ministry of hospitality and advocacy for Melbourne’s homeless. He was the ethics framework developer and consultant for the secular award-winning Christian Super and taught business ethics for the School of Applied Finance at Macquarie University for a decade.
Gordon’s doctorate and specialty is in the theology and ethics of work. He is a board member of the Theology of Work Project and has been a leader in the Lausanne Workplace Network. He is an award-winning author/editor of 13 books and of Zadok Perspectives, and on the team of Equip. Married to Susan, a mental health educator, they have three married children and three spirited grandsons.
